1. How long have you been a roofing company?
We have been working as a roofing company since 1953 when Bumpas senior incorporated Texas Builders Inc. in Fort Worth Texas. We have been offering since then several services related to the roofing industry. Services like gutters, skylights, sidings, etc. Although Fort Worth has been and will be always our main home, we serve now all the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex.
2. What kind of roofing projects do you take?
We take both residential, commercial, and anything in between. Our team has worked for years in the roofing business and it is not uncommon for them to work on different sizes, large and small. We not only have the knowledge but we also have the experience to help you with any roofing project you might have. We have never charged for estimates and for first time roofing consultations. Our main goal is to guide you through the whole process and help you make the right decision for your roofing project. 4. How many years does a new roof last?
The lifespan of any roof will depend on several things. Things like the type of roof you choose, the materials, the installation, the local weather, the regular maintenance, among many other things. A superior quality roof material can last up to twenty years with regular maintenance. Usually, asphalt shingles last from 15 to 20 years; wood shingles from 10 to 40 years, clay or concrete tiles for 20+ years, slate can last 30-100 years, and metal roofing from 15 to 40+years.
5. My roof leaks. Do I have to replace it?
No, not always and the best recommended option for you is to get your roof inspected to assess the damage if any. A roof leak is a sign that problems might exists. It could be a major or minor one but you will never know until a professional gets to check everything on your unique situation. Your problem can be as simple as some flashings have come loose or small cracks. Depending on the scope – if a very large and complex – a project manager may be assigned from our operations team. Your sales rep will always keep you posted about personnel we use. We also use the same crew supervisors that we have used since beginning our business.

Yes, once all of the information is gathered, we prepare a detailed SOW (statement of work) for your roofing project. We will always provide that information to you regardless.
17. Do you get all roofing permits for work?
Usually yes, for instance for municipalities where required, we do obtain all permits. However, for HOA requirements, it is the customer’s responsibility to obtain HOA approvals. We can provide any documentation required to help you with that process. Just ask for our help if needed.

Yes. Usually insurance, equipment, experience, and skills are major factors for this. Roofing companies who don’t have quality insurance or lack of experience will always be less expensive. We have a couple of dedicated and trusted subcontractors. Most of them work only with us because they have been there since the beggining or because we engage with them regularly from one job to another. However be assured that all of them have a license and are insured plus 95% of our work is done in house and from our own employees.

Roofing is not definitely a DIY work and it can be really dangerous for inexpirienced people. An unfortunately there are no 100% explanation manuals showing how to properly do roofing. Every home is difference and each work require experience to be able to handle everything. This is a serious business and should not be done unless you have good experience. Property owners should focus their efforts only to periodic roof inspections and very basic roof maintenances.
